Group 6 will be hosting an Airborne Photographer class at US Aviation Academy in Denton, TX on 28-29 April 2018. The classroom portion of the course will go over use of the camera and GPS, how to download data from the camera, and general techniques for taking photographs from the backseat of a moving aircraft. We plan on flying AP sorties to get people fully qualified as CAP AP’s.
Bill Mellett who has taught AP at LESA multiple times will be the instructor for this training.
Anyone is welcome to sit in on the ground training. But, to become qualified as an AP, you will first need to become qualified as a Mission Scanner. Here are some resources. Please get your squadron commander’s approval in eServices before class begins. Please bring your squadron’s camera kit to class.
