Come to our SLS (Squadron Leadership School)!  Group VI of Texas Wing Civil Air Patrol will be hosting an SLS 4-5 November (Saturday and Sunday) 2017 at the US Aviation Academy at the Denton Enterprise Airport (Denton, TX).

This training provides CAP senior members with a basic understanding of CAP operations at the squadron level and how those operations affect CAP’s national missions. Additionally, students learn more about CAP customs,   core values, and communications. The course is comprised of case studies, discussion, and group assignments. Group interaction is a key component of SLS and is encouraged by the instructors.  SLS also allows students to meet other members from outside the squadron and start to develop the CAP network.

SLS is a core component of Level II training which is required for promotion to 1st Lieutenant.

Students enrolling in the course will need a CAPF17 (Application for Senior Member Activities) signed by their Squadron Commander either printed or in electronic format (forwarded to the course director) and a CAPF161 (Emergency Information) with them at the time of the course.  CAPIDs will also be verified.

Preferred class attire is Class B or White Aviator Shirt. New members may wear appropriate civilian clothing. BDU/ABU, Polo Shirt, and Flight Suits are not authorized.

Curriculum and course materials may be found at CAP University->Technical Training.
