Have you thought about working at the Incident Command Post but been too involved with Ground Teams or Flight Crews to do both? Have you wondered what is going on “on the other end of the phone”? Well, here’s your chance to find out or to get some refresher training if it has been awhile.
TXWG CAP Group VI will be holding an Incident Staff training weekend on 20-21 February, 2016. You will receive training in how to run missions using both WMIRS and CAPERS and just what goes on behind the scenes at the Incident Command Post. Although there will be no actual missions (flying or ground teams), we will be doing the planning and paperwork associated with briefing, releasing, and debriefing (possibly the most important piece) these missions as if they really were happening.
This training will prepare you for the next SAREX or real world mission with (hopefully) a little less stress and plenty of qualified instructors to mentor you along.
