WHAT: The Junior Cadet Accessions Program (JCAP) offers high school juniors and seniors and A&M transfer students who are involved in Junior ROTC, Civil Air Patrol, Young Marines and Sea Cadets a first-hand experience with the Corps of Cadets. While at JCAP, cadets will:
- Meet current cadets and learn about their experiences in the Corps
- Stay in the Corps dorms on campus Meet JROTC/CAP/Young Marine/Sea Cadets in the Corps and from other high schools
- Learn about the university admissions process, financial aid, scholarships and academic support
- Train with our national drill champions, the Fish Drill Team
- In the Fall, march in to Kyle Field with the Corps before a football game
- Attend an A&M sporting event – football in the fall or basketball/baseball in the spring (subject to scheduling and ticket availability)
- Attend a recognition ceremony
- Additional Corps scholarship consideration is given for participants
WHEN: Friday-Saturday Nov 18-19. Depart NightHawk Composite Squadron on Friday at 0800. Return Saturday evening.
ITEMS TO BRING: Cadets should wear casual clothes for the trip down and the first day of orientation. Cadets should pack the following:
- Printed Proof of JCAP Registration from A&M Corps of Cadets
- Completed CAP Form 32 CAPF 32
- Completed CAP Form 161 CAPF 161
- CAP Blue Uniform to participate in the pre-game “March In” with the Aggie Corps of Cadets.
- Change of casual clothes to attend football game and for the return trip.
- Weather appropriate outerwear
- Toiletries
- Any necessary medications
WHERE: Sanders Corps of Cadets Center, Texas A&M University, College Station, TX (see map)
EVENT COST: $25 for JCAP meals and commemorative T-Shirt. Recommend additional spending money for snacks during the trip to/from College Station and for concessions during the football game.
BILLETING: Free. Cadets will sleep in the Corps of Cadet dorms at no cost.
TRANSPORTATION: Free. Group transportation for cadets will be squadron funded. However, cadets and parents are welcome to drive personal vehicles at their own expense.
FOOTBALL GAME: Free. To make the most from this opportunity and give Cadets a broader and fun university experience, the A&M Corps of Cadets will provide free tickets to the Texas A&M vs. UTSA football game following the JCAP event.
