Texas Wing Flight Competition

Texas CAP Members,

I’m happy to announce after a very successful Texas Wing Flight Competition last year, we are planning to hold it again this year the weekend of FEBRUARY 25, 2017.

1) We are currently accepting requests for staffing positions. This is one of the few massive Wing Wide exercises we have and a GREAT way to learn a role or refresh practice in a role. Whether you are a pilot, or not, there is plenty to be done. Positions for Incident Commander all the way down to Flight Line Marshallers (and judges) are needed. I am very happy to work with someone who wants to train as an IC in this exercise.

2) GROUPS: You must select your competition team and aircraft prior to the event. You can use any method you want. The only requirements are that check pilots can’t serve as mission pilots without an approved exception and last year’s winning team can’t compete again.

3) Region has CONFIRMED they are holding a region wide competition, likely in March 2017. The winner for Texas will be sent to represent out Wing at the Region competition.
